It took me a lot of time to solve the issue that iTunes cannot burn CD/DVD in x64 environments, including Windows XP x64, Windows Server x64 & Windows Vista x64.
It’s because we don’t have an ASPI driver for x64, in most case.
Thanks to Chaoserver in the Neowin Forum, now we can easily make it works…
Instructions:
- First, download the GEAR ASPI package for x64 from here.
- Then, install it but don’t reboot.
- You can find the GEARAspiWDM.sys in %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers and copy it to %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\Drivers.
- Reboot.
Now iTunes should recognize your CD/DVD burner and you can happily use the functionality of CD/DVD burning to backup you music.
